The word 'tashafi' comes from the Arabic root word 'shafa' which means 'to heal'. Thus, Tashafi Herbs is defined as healing herbs. I thought this name to be fitting and expresses my love for the beauty of herbs and the healing properties they were destined for.

In Islam, we believe that there is a cure for everything except death.

As a Black woman, I look back on history and have a deep respect for the knowledge my ancestors had regarding the world of nature around them, including the healing properties of food and plants. I have begun my journey to reclaim and restore the traditional ways of healing and to continue learning and sharing throughout my journey.
